Converting to Burlap

I'm all settled into my new apartment in Dallas! Thank you to everyone who sent comments and emails wishing me the best, so sweet of all of you! :) Last week I started my new job so things have been pretty busy!! However, I've noticed the upcoming summer trend in sandals is a burlap rope inspired heal -- but let's talk interior design shall we :)

One of my favorite finds is this DIY burlap message board with bronze nail-head trimming. Grab a cork board, take some burlap and wrap it around the board and staple gun the material to the back of the board. Then push a few nail-heads around the edges to make a border frame.

Add some color to chic burlap window coverings by adding a fabric piece along side the edge.

So I absolutely LOVE these grape hyacinths which are a shade of blue and are a traditional Spring bulb flower -- they apparently really like to multiply on their own, so I adore them even more because it makes gardening easier!ha The burlap wrap featured with a jeweled charm around the mason jar is fantastic. A great touch to a simple table vase.

Feeling artsy? Then this DIY project featured by Apartment Therapy is for you! :) Weaving burlap into a stylish table runner and then sewing the edges together using a thread color of your choosing - mine would be aqua blue.

So many people like to use burlap somewhere in their home - it's a great chic beachy material. If you have ever crafted something out of burlap, leave a comment below sharing with everyone, we'd love to know! :)
