Mint, Mint, on the Wall

Thinking about doing a Spring makeover in one of your bathrooms or bedrooms? Mint is a great color to use against a white wall and still keeps the clean fresh look, but with a punch of calming color. The great characteristic with mint, is that you can switch around your decor (I'm known for doing this a lot in my house.ha) from fancy to simple and the styled look still works.

From dark to light shades, mint brings in an airy, refreshing, sense of wellbeing feeling for any room and can help balance out the amount of plain white walls in your home without having to do much work because they go great together! - such as the above picture of a half white half mint wall style with simple molding.

Mint is a great coastal color to pair with warmer hues such as yellow, rich brown and cream, and coral. If you just want to stick with mint and white, but want that little extra something to make your walls shimmer and stand out... use high gloss paint (plus you can clean it easier!).

Interesting fact: Mint actually comes from the color coordinates of Spring Green, which has quite the history dating back all the way to 1766! But today Crayola likes to call it Sea Foam Green, and there is about 12 other variations of mint hues to choose from.

Making a room brighter without having many windows around is sometimes difficult, but use mint in your color mix, and *BAM* instant brightness. Mint green is also said to help inspire mental activity (thanks to psychology studies), so why not use it in a study or dining area too. Your emotions and feelings in fact help drive how your decor style makes up your home, so understanding yourself and how you feel can greatly impact your decoration ideas.

Spring cleaning AND decorating begins in just 12 days! What colors and/or room will you be using to do a makeover?
