Day 6's Creative Art & Tasty Food

Sanibel's local restaurant, George and Wendy's Corner Grill was the place to be for lunch this afternoon. We had never been there since it just opened within the past few months on the island and we haven't been back in a year, but the food and experience turned out to be wonderful! Combine great art and great food and you're good to go. Tropical paintings by various artists are displayed throughout the restaurant as a gallery, with the pieces up for sale for a few hundred and a few thousand dollars...Although the food is great and the pricing is very reasonable for what you get, make sure you go hungry because the portions are big, so if you're not a big eater I'd share a plate with someone.

Love their landscaping!

There are paintings at each dining table for customers to enjoy.

One of the major artists showcased at the Corner Grill, Stacie Krupa.

They have a pool area and bar...also displaying art.

Starfish!

I loved the glittery details on this painting.

Thanks to searching the tourists maps, we found a coupon to go towards our total check, saving about $7.00

Italian Flat Bread

Corner Grill Club Sandwich was SoOOoOooOo good!

Hot Buffalo Chicken Sandwich

Grilled Mahi Mahi Sandwich

Of course, you gotta have a Florida gator.

For dinner we drove to Captiva Island to visit for the first time, RC Otters. It is included in a signature chain of 4 restaurants, each close by each other on the mainland. Their outdoor seating with a live band is great for dining when coming right off the beach, but the indoor seating area is much cooler :) ...however smaller. They have paper on the tables and crayons for you to use to draw whatever you're thinking while waiting for drinks and food to come out. It is a very popular place on the island in the evening, so getting their early is a good idea or you'll have to wait at least 30 minutes to be seated. The food was about average, and the price was a little high for what we ordered at least.

The bar area right inside the front entrance.

Loved their bar stools with different paintings of fish on them :)

Indoor seating area, and yes thats the whole thing.

The fish I drew while waiting for the food to come out to our table. There's only so much you can do with 4 colors.

Veggie Quesedillas were alright, I've had better though. There were more onions and peppers than actual veggies...

Neat looking tree.
